Dr Syed Saeed Bokhari

Dr Syed Saeed Bokhari is a retired Gastroenterologist. He graduated from King Edward Medical College Lahore Pakistan in 1974– He migrated to United States and settled in Chicago area in 1976. After completing a Residency in Internal Medicine and a Fellowship in Gastroenterology, he started a private practice of his specialty in 1982. During a period of many years, he was involved with teaching medical and nursing students, resident physicians and fellows in gastroenterology. After retiring from private practice in 2013 he served as Chief Medical Officer, a post that he held till 2015. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology and a Fellow/Member of several Professional Societies.

Dr Bokhari has been very passionate about charitable work and is a founding member of GCI. Previously he had been teaching lecturing and giving educational workshops in Iraq and Pakistan since 2009. He has been associated with charitable projects in Pakistan concerning educational support for schools in remote areas of Pakistan, helping deserving students with their educational expenses and providing opportunities for furthering their careers. He has also been active with religious institutions in various capacities in Chicago and Islamic centers in other cities in America. Presently, Dr Bokhari lives in Hoffman Estates, Illinois with his wife Rubia. He has a son and a daughter and four grandchildren.
